Discover the beauty of the Taipei Riverside (Dadaocheng Area) and Old Township
Dadaocheng, which used to be the main gateway into Taipei, is today crowded with many shops dealing tea and fabrics, the main items that were traded during the colorful and memorable past of Dadaocheng. There is also a bikeway by the wharf for riverside cycling in scenic and historic surroundings.
Yingge, located in Taipei County (to the south of Taipei), is famous for its high concentration of potters. Almost all attractions are located within a 10 minute ride of the train station. Travelers can take the bus from hotels to Yingge, and enjoy riding on the bike paths. Shihmen Reservoir, located in Longtan Township, Taoyuan County, opened to the public by 1964, and is one of Taiwan’s major reservoirs.
